William Isaac, a sergeant major in the R E (Royal Engineers?) was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia c1850. I contacted Halifax, who said he was probably part of an army family, so not on their registers. By 1901 William had died, in the London area I believe. He married in Woolwich c1878.
